Alaskan Adventure -July 5, 2014 - Central Mission Assembly of God Church

Since the guys took off on Friday for the Fourth, they worked today, Saturday.

James and Ray worked on putting the floor joists to the second floor.

I really felt for these guys because the sun beat down all day and they had
no shade.  Temperatures were in the low 90's.

Here they are working on the header board.

While James and Ray were doing their thing on top,
Al, Arlen and Glenn were working on flooring and stairs of the third floor.

    Stair boards.

  Stairs to the third floor.

   Flooring for the third floor.

Synnyo, Moosook, and Yong Mi prepared a wonderful meal for lunch.

Synnyo's favorite saying is "I can make it happen".  We think she is so cute and very talented.

Ginger ask one of the ladies where a good place was to get a hair cut, and they said..
"Synnyo does it."

What can this lady not do?!

Here Ginger and Joyce getting their hair cut.

Synnyo does many things.  She is the secretary for the church, she translates for those who do not know English, she handles legal matters and a multitude of other things.  Who knew she cuts hair too!

Alaskan facts:

Alaska's official flag is based on Benny Benson's design, which was submitted in a Territory-wide contest for schoolchildren sponsored by the American Legion in 1926. At that time Benny was a thirteen-year-old seventh-grader of Russian-Aleut and Swedish descent, studying at the Territorial School at Seward and a resident of the Jesse Lee Mission Home. The Alaska Territorial Legislature officially adopted his design on May 2, 1927. The proclamation praised his winning entry for, "its simplicity, its originality and its symbolism." On the design submission, Benny had written the following words of explanation: “The blue field is for the Alaska sky and the forget-me-not, an Alaska flower. The North Star is for the future of the state of Alaska, the most northerly in the Union. The dipper is for the Great Bear — symbolizing strength.”[2]
