Alaskan Adventure - July 23 - 24, 2014 - Central Mission Assembly of God Church

We arrived back in Fairbanks on the evening of July 22 to start work again on July 23.

Work continued while we were gone.  Jesse and a helper began putting the metal roof on.
Sorry, I just wasn't going to climb up to get a picture.

Glenn started on the plumbing lines.

Ron working on the electrical.

He has 36 of the cams (I don't know what else to call them) to wire.

The insulation for the outside walls are going up.

Today, July 24, the door and windows are installed on one end.

These mentioned task above are going to be on going for a few days.  Progress continues but may not be visible from a day to day basis.

The days are getting shorter and rain continues to fall.  They say all of this rain is unusual.

While we were gone, Arlen celebrated a birthday on the day we took the plane around Mt. McKinley.  So we celebrated again with cake when we got back,

Notice how he glows!  We couldn't find silly string, so watch out Arlen,  we just may get you yet!

This evening we visited with Ron and LaQueta (sorry if I misspelled the name). We had a wonderful visit eating cake or pie and ice cream.  They shared with us a video of their lovely wedding.   Letting this little secret out -- Ron has a beautiful voice.  He sang Hello, Hello Again by Neil Diamond at their wedding.  Some of their courtship was over the phone while he worked with us in Florida, so that song was very appropriate.    We are a bit jealous.  Ron sings and reads poetry to LaQueta.  They are a sweet couple.

Ron showed us how they have to bundle up at 40 below.

Something's wrong with this picture.

That looks better.  Styling!

Ok ok...

This is the pic Al is probably waiting for....

Don't ask.

But all in good fun!

  2. How is Dad's fingers? Is he healed yet or is it still hurting?

Ah, I like it when the windows go in. It make it feel like the outside is almost complete.
