Week 13 - February 23-27 - Trinity Church, Miami

The Convoy of Hope truck pulled in this week to deliver food for Hope Jam, but.....more of that later.

Meanwhile, construction is coming right along.

The restrooms had to be finished for this weekend.  In conjunction with #HopeJam2015. Joyce Meyer is to be a guest speaker on Sunday, so it was a push to get the restrooms ready.

  Al building counters.

Glenn and Jack installing the partitions.

Bill working on the counters too.

   Faucets installed.

     Hand dryers installed.

    Les working on the lights.

Jack working on some finishing adjustments.

John and Mary finished up the tile in the restrooms.

In other parts of the church some were painting doors.

   Jan scrapping paint and....

   ....painting.

    Georgie.

LaQueta helping Ron with the electrical.

Sheetrock taping or maybe it is mudding.

    Floor sanding.

Many hands working this week. Not only on the regular construction but others preparing for #HopeJam2015!

HopeJam is an outreach to the community. The church has provided for a Saturday of free groceries giveaway, free dental, free haircuts, fun for the children, Salvation ministry and baptizing. An array of activities of fun, music and food.

Yesterday we helped bag 5000 bags of groceries.

    Pallets of bagged food.

Tents were being set up in the large parking lot today and yesterday.

A sound stage was being set up in front of our RV area today.

    View outside my Montana window.

It has been a busy, busy week but we still managed to have our Thursday date night at a wonderful Mexican restaurant.

    Three Amigos!

    The gals.

The guys.  (Thanks Jan, I "stole" your pics off FB).

We even surprised Ted with an early birthday!

Someone wanted a taste of dessert. But I'm not telling who. Haha

Tomorrow is going to be busy again, but fun!  #HopeJam2015.

Week 12 - February 16- 20, 2015. Trinity Church

This post will be a daily log of the construction, so some of it may seem repetitive.  I don't know the square footage of all this construction, but I can tell you that this is a very large project.

Monday - February 16

The men are busy throughout the project. Arlen and Georgie are busy painting the restrooms.

Glenn and Jack are working on the restrooms too, putting up towel racks.

A hired company are smoothing out the concrete floors.

The floors will not be tiled or carpeted. They will have a shiny surface. I don't know the name of this product but the floors will be beautiful and durable under heavy traffic.

The restroom floor already have been finished.

The partitions are down between the newly constructed hallways.

The old flooring is being taken up in the vestibule of the sanctuary area.

Busy, busy, busy.
This was another wall taken down.  The area to the left will be Wilkerson Chapel.

There was a ramp leading to Kidz Zone that is being taken out by a hired company. This is to make room for two more restrooms that our guys will be constructing.

Tuesday-February 17

John has been busy putting up tile on the walls in the restrooms.
Looking good John!

Much going on in the restrooms. Glenn and Jack have been installing the toilets.

More sheetrock going up. Also window frames and doors.

The company hired to take out a concrete ramp also broke through another wall.  Two restrooms will be installed in this area by our guys.

Concrete floors are being sanded.

Wednesday, Thursday.--February 18, 19.

Glenn and Jack are still putting in the toilets for both men and women's restrooms and tile is going up on two walls of each restroom.

The company that was hired to do the floors are taking up old glue.

Some of our guys have been chipping away at the old tile.

Georgie and Joyce are preparing the door and window frames to be painted and Arlen's sprayer is busy at work.

I don't know how many containers of old material have been hauled away.....

Friday - February 20

Week is almost over and the transformation has been amazing. It is taking shape now and much easier for me to visualize than the lines on a blueprint.

Glenn and Jack are working hard at getting the restrooms functional for church on Sunday.  Also John and Mary are working at the wall tile and it is looking really good.  Our electrician have been installing the lights. I think  the congregation on Sunday will be amazed!!

Don working on the lights and Glenn and Jack working putting up the stall partitions.

It looks like there is a little more tile to be chipped away. This is at the North entrance.

We still managed to have some fellowship together.   Thursdays are our night out for a time of fellowship and food.

Every workday we have breaktime at 9:30 for devotions and a little food for our guys.

Joyce made it fun today. She prepared Minion cupcakes and wore a "crazy" wig.  She gave a wonderful devotion on  "Crazy Faith"

  The Minions were too cute!
