Today is January 21, 2012 and we are camped at High Falls State Park in Georgia. Maybe by March (our 40th anniversary month) we will get to venture a little further from home. The reason for this trip you ask?....  Glenn had a Royal Ranger Commander's meeting near Atlanta and I needed to get some supplies for my small home embroidery business.

Today is rainy and we are under a tornado watch.  I decided to stay around the campsite and work on a few craft projects, besides, I can always run to the bathhouse in case I needed to take more secure shelter.

For Valentine's day, I had an idea to make something for Dylan and Drew to take to school for their Valentine school party.  Below is a picture of what I came up with, but not my original idea. I made 30 today.  They go really fast if you make them in a assembly line fashion.

I started with a bag of valentine suckers that I picked up at the dollar store.

Then a few emblishments, ribbon, paper, glue and wallah......

Here is a side view.   They are real easy to put together.

All you need is a strip of cardstock cut @ 6 1/2" x 2 1/4". Score and bend @ 2 1/2" and 4" to form the bottom. Not all of mine stand up straight, I need to place the sucker a little closer to the top so that the paper can lay flat on the bottom side. Emblish the front side, put strong double tape at the top, place your sucker and fold up to the tape to secure.

A quick project on a rainy day.
