Highlights from September to March, 2018/19

Another Update:  Since I wrote the update below, I feel the need to bring the blog up to today.... April 17.

The church project will continue next year.  The other RV volunteers have left for the summer and we hope to leave the Monday after Easter. Glenn had Drs appointments that kept us here; but just a few more days.
I will be starting a new series of blogs chronicling our travels for the summer. It will be titled, Adventures With Ruby.  Ruby is our 16 foot Retro camper.

It’s time to catch up....a bit....

Since I last posted, we have been in Mauriceville, TX working at a USMAPS project. The old church building was torn down last year due to hurricane damage.  We are here to work with a number of other couples to build the new sanctuary. It has been slow going due to rainy weather, but now we see some progress.

While we were waiting for the concrete to be poured, we worked on another church in Orange, TX that was also damaged by the hurricane (Harvey). Joyce and I had fun decorating, picking out colors, furniture and wall hangings.

We choose work here in South Texas so that Glenn would be close to his cancer doctors at the VA Hospital. He had a PET scan on March 5th. We are waiting to see his doctor on March 25th for the results. We are trusting in the Lord that he is still in remission.

We made a short trip home to Georgia to celebrate three very special birthdays. Our grandsons, Dylan, Drew and Maxwell had birthdays in the same week. I’ve missed so many other birthday, that I didn’t want to miss another.

We were also able to take care of some business, and, on a sad note, we had made an appointment for Miss Ava, our Boston Terrier to see her vet.  We had been treating her for congestive heart failure.  We knew that the meds were no longer working.  In talking with our vet, we knew there was nothing more we could do for her.  She was a precious girl and we miss so very much. We still have her son, Brindle.  He misses her too.
