Adventures With Ruby

We crossed the border from California into Oregon on June 19. We stayed one night at Valley of the Rogue State Park. It is a very nice park with full hookups.

We came this way because we wanted to see Crater Lake.

We were fortunate to get a site the next day at Joseph Stewart State Park with electric and water.  We had a beautiful camp site.

We set up and then drove to Crater Lake.  It is true. The first time you see it, you will go "wow"  It is so beautifully blue.

We watched a short video at the visitors center about how the lake was created. It is mind boggling how high the mountain was before the volcano blew and the huge crater it created, and that the water is from snow melt and rain. The water does not flow out nor does water flow in.

Brindle seemed to enjoy the views.

We drove part of rim road but some of it is still closed because of snow. They plan to open it up in July.

Today, June 21, we are heading back to the coast to continue our travels up the coast of Oregon.

We enjoyed our visit. It was worth the little detour.

Glenn planning the next days travels.
