Ruby our little Retro camper has followed us from Texas, to White Sands, NM, across Arizona, to five National Parks in California and from San Francisco up the coast of California on Hwy 1 and now on the border of Oregon. It has been an amazing trip, and it's not over.
We have seen many beautiful sights. The coastline of California up Hwy 1 is an amazingly beautiful drive. Almost at every turn, the road reveals more beautiful Views.
The road led us to rocky cliffs to dense forest.
We traveled the Avenue of the Giants. It is a drive not to be missed if you are in awe of the Redwoods.
We camped at Burlington Campground in Humbolt State Park under the tall redwoods. The tree tops swayed in the circulating wind high above us. Is there music in the wind?...oh yes! it is a beautiful sound.
We walked among the giant trees through Stout Grove. The drive was a 6 mile dirt, one lane road. It was once an old stage coach road. It did have turnouts for on coming cars.
No, we didn't take Ruby on this drive. She was resting back at the Redwood Meadows RV Resort and our sweet Brindle was resting also. On many of the trails, dogs are not allowed.
We estimated we have traveled almost 7000 miles.
