Pastor Sung (we call him Pastor Dave) preached about Work. Working for The Lord is a form of worship. Our men have really been working for the Lord this week. We pray that this building will be a blessing to all that come, and will receive Christ as their Savior.
Curtis passing up flooring sheets. We are so thankful for strong men from the Mission.
Al and Yong Ray (Ray's son) waiting for the next sheet of flooring. Glad they have good balance!
Stairs to the second floor were built this morning.
Making sure all is aligned properly. Arlen, Ray, and Bob from the Mission.
Just what is that used for you ask?
Glenn's design to knock the floor boards in proper alignment position before nailing.
Playing with boards before he nailed his fingers together. No worries, he's ok.
A lot was accomplished today and the men worked hard, so, I think that calls for another trip to the Chena Hot Springs to soothe sore muscles.
Maybe ole Mr. Moose might show up again...
Or... Maybe another furry friend.
Sleepy time.
Alaska facts:
Chena Hot Springs are located 60 miles northeast of Fairbanks. The hot springs became famous for curing crippled prospectors of their aches and pains as long ago as 1905. In 1904 a U.S. Geological survey crew saw steam rising from the valley somewhere on up the upper Chena River.
In 1912, the trail to the springs took only 20 hrs from Fairbanks. A great improvement from the one to three weeks traveling time prior to 1911 when the trail was improved.
It takes about one hour traveling today.
WOW!! Amazing progress!! You'll be back in the lower 48 before you know it and missing that hot springs!! LOVE YOU!!
