When we left Cody, WY, Glenn took me to Devils Tower. He had never seen it nor had I. On our way, we stopped in Buffalo, WY to visit with some friends we met on a MAPS project. In fact, we have worked with Arlyn and Eunice on several projects. We really enjoyed our stay. They have a lovely home.
Devils Tower is very impressive. We stopped at a photo opportunity turn out before actually getting to the park.
We were able to get a nice campsite in the park with a great view of the tower.
After setting up camp, we drove up to the tower. I was just going to walk up the path to the base of the tower and huge boulders but we ended up walking all the way around. 1.3 miles
The camp host told us there would be a demonstration of Indian dance that evening in the amphitheater. There were four drummers and about 6 dancers. Amoung them were two young girls dressed in their festive dance regalia. They were so cute.
Brindle found a friend in the Park Ranger lady.
The next day it was on to Rapid City to visit with more MAPS friends. Then on to Chadron to visit with more friends. Thanks to Lynn and Sandye and Bruce and Laurie (Laurie was on a trip of her own to see a sister) We really enjoyed seeing y'all. Bruce, the steaks were wonderful.
Rapid City is a beautiful city. Hopefully we can make a return trip someday.
Lynn and Sandy's took us down a street that has bronze statues of the Presidents on each corner. Thanks guys.
Our four month Adventures With Ruby is almost at an end. It has been an amazing trip.
