Much activity has been going on since my last blog...
The sidewalk has been poured around the church and also the porch has been poured.
The driveway has been prepared for the blacktop and is on schedule for this week.
Not only has work been going on on the outside, lots of activity on the inside....
Preparing the walls in the foyer. Painting followed.
Arlen and helper Barbara began painting.
More taping and mudding.....
Kayla is becoming a mudding expert.
Doors were delivered....and they have been stained ready to hang.
Taking a break for lunch.
The sanctuary was contracted out. We did not have time to complete it.
Here is a pic of the insulation being installed.
The sanctuary walls are double thickness inside and out.
The following are pictures I took today, our official last day of work.
A view of a large side room.
This is a view of the entrance and foyer.
The walls are painted a light gray with two dark gray accent walls.
Kitchen area.
Obviously, there is more work, but our men worked hard and the inspectors were very well pleased with the skills our guys displayed in their handiwork.
We have enjoyed our time here and the people of the church have made us feel special, providing meals, keeping our area mowed, gave us plants for a small garden; I could go on and on. Hopefully we can come back and see the completed building. The Lord has great things in store for this church and we are happy to have been a part.
"Building Churches, Changing Lives"
WOW! What a transformation from a cornfield to a beautiful church. It was just a muddy mess when we first arrived in May. Have they brought the water and gas lines up on the outside? Will the plumbers be setting the fixtures soon? Have a great time at the convention and keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteWater lines were finished a couple days ago and gas lines last week. As I type, the equipment is here to do the blacktop parking lot. But, guess what.....it is overcast with sprinkles. Glenda
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the pictures Glennda! It really has changed since we left three weeks ago. How they cut over from temporary power to permanent power yet? Will see you guys at convention in a few days.
