MAPS RV Project - Teen Challenge, Dublin, GA - Feb 22 - 27

“, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
I Corinthians 15:58 NKJV

Time marches on, but our labor here continues through the month of March for most of us. We did have to say "until we meet again" to Roy. He added so much to our group here and was so very valuable in his labor.

This past week was a busy one and the progress is so visible.

                 Windows getting trimmed.

             Siding going on.

         Extension of the walkway overhang.

David Kincaid, Middle Georgia Teen Challenge Executive Director, lending a hand.

                   Trim painting

Georgie has dreams of painting.  I know she will be glad when she can say "finished".

Thanks to Jack also for his painting skill.

Les finished pulling in the circuits and wiring up the panel.

Of course there was some time for fun. On Saturday a few of us gals visited the Cannonball House and the Hay House also known as "The Palace of the South". These homes are located in Macon and on this day the homes were "open house" which meant free. We love free. The homes were beautiful and we enjoyed the day.  I'm afraid the photos do not show the beauty, but here are a few.

Demonstrating how the yarn was spun and dyed

The kitchen help. At the Cannonball House, the kitchen was separate from the main house which was typical in that day.

The Hays House was built from 1855 to 1859 and occupied by three families, Johnston-Felton-Hay.

I loved the stained glass.

The "Four Seasons of the Vineyard" window.

  From the outside.....

    From the inside.

I didn't get a photo of all the stained glass but each piece was impressive.

I also loved the chandeliers.

       Note the bells.

   One of the sitting rooms.

The great hall where art was displayed.

  Huge pocket doors.

Truly a magnificent home.
