Today was not such a rainy day, but the water was standing in puddles.

Building a wall.

    Measure twice, cut once Al.

   As you can see, the interior walls for the first floor are coming together.

   The boards in the forground are the floor joist for the second floor.  They were delivered today 

    and should be up by Monday or Tuesday. 

    Also, the concrete contractors are removing the large pile of dirt.

It was about normal quitting time when it started to rain again, so the men called it a day.

Synnyo brought us all sushi made by a Sushi Chef that goes to the church.   We all ate some and it was very tasty.   In fact, we ate the whole thing.

   This is to prove to my daughters that I did try it.  In fact I ate all three samples.

Rain, rain, go away! Come back some other day!

It rained all day today.

    Prayer with Pastor Dave.

    Waiting for the rain to stop.

   Our lunch meal.  Super yummy.  The ladies feed us well!  

After lunch, the rain did let up just a very little, so the men decided to work.

They got the walls up, but they sure were soaked ducks.

Being Wednesday, we had church.

The young people from Anchorage and Seattle led in worship.

The presence of The Lord was with us.  Doesn't matter what our language, The Lord was honored and praised.

One stanza from one of the songs we sang:

     You deserve the Glory.

Alaskan Adventure - June, 24, 2014 - Central Mission Assembly of God

Today the concrete was poured early this morning.  The day started out with beautiful blue skies, but rain threatened later in the morning and we had rain off and on all day.  That didn't stop these guys.  They continued on.

Here you can see the floater.  The concrete that is used in Alaska is filled with pea gravel. They say it will be dry enough tomorrow to be able to start putting the walls up.

During the time the concrete contractors were pouring the concrete, our men continued to

pre-fab the walls, doors and windows.

    Ginger helped too.  No fooling, she did help move the wall, only I couldn't get my camera 

    phone out in time before the job was done.

We have a break time around 9:30 with devotions.  Today there were a group of Korean young people from Seattle and Anchorage here to do street ministry.  They ate an early lunch, and set out to minister.

Syonno backed some delicious cookies for our break. She said she uses very little sugar and lots of chocolate chips. They were so yummy.  She says we are going to lose weight because she uses olive oil and all healthy cooking.  I don't know about losing weight, everything the ladies have served is so very delicious.  Yesterday we had baked salmon and today, baked chicken. Side dishes are healthy greens or beans. The seasonings they use makes everything taste amazing.  I need to start taking pictures of how much they serve us.  Of course, always rice, but also very good.  These wonderful people are so hospitable.

Joyce, Ginger and I ventured out of town a little way and visited a shop called The Knotty Shop.  Of course items geared to tourist.  Here are a few pics of our trip.

     We looked for moose along the way but this is the only one we found!!

Of course Mosquitos are hard to miss....

The flowers here are beautiful.
