We had to go to Houston for Glenn's early morning appointment PET scan. We pulled Ruby to a near by RV park near the VA Hospital. The RV park provides a shuttle to the nearby hospitals which is such a blessing. I'm so thankful to report the Glenn is still in remission.
We arrived back in Mauriceville, TX only a few days before the Imelda flood. We were still staying in Ruby because we discovered the air conditioners were not cooling in the Montana. I couldn't sleep through the storm and when I couldn't see the gravel parking lot anymore, I woke Glenn up. He went out in the pouring rain, thunder and lightning and hooked up Ruby. I pulled Ruby as Glenn wadded through the water to guide me out of our parking spot so that we wouldn't run into a ditch on either sides of the driveway. We were able to get her to higher ground. We initially thought the Montana didn't take on water and it didn't inside but now we aren't too sure about the under belly. The fate of our Montana fifth wheel is still in question.
I feel so bad for those who were just recovering from Hurricane Harvey and then flooded again by Tropical Storm Imelda.
From Houston, we travelled to the Savannah area to see family and more doctor appointments. I was so glad to see the boys, Kelly and Spencer. We driveway camped with little Ruby. Having her is so convenient. We can park her just about anywhere.
We enjoyed our visit and even got to attend a couple of sport events.
I have a few videos of the action but unable to post here.
It was then off to Carlinville, IL for our US MAPS RV Convention. We had a great week with our volunteer friends.
Little Ruby has a magnetic personality. We all gathered around as more friends arrived at the event.
Convention is always fun and refreshing. It is also a time to learn of new upcoming projects where help is needed. We are all volunteers, on our on dime, building churches, changing lives.
One night is fun night. Old people can have fun too.
We are back at the Mauriceville project for a few weeks then it is off to Arizona.
The new parking lot was delayed by the flood but it's looking great now.
