Journey Church, Lowell, IN -- July 4 - 18

It's past blog time -- Almost two and a half weeks since I blogged last and we have been real busy, so, here we go.......

We spent Independence Day celebrating with the Journey Church family cookout and watched the fireworks at a nearby park.  Everyone had a wonderful yummy time and beautiful lights display.

,

The fireworks pics didn't turn out so good,  but the town put on a wonderful show.

Progress on the building is really taking shape and of course changing everyday.

Siding

Roof going on provides much needed shade

Because the men had already built the inside walls, installation was a time saver.

There has been a lot of work in the hot sun but we also had times of relaxation.  We celebrated Glenn's birthday with cake and ice cream and of course silly string.

On Saturday, we visited the candy factory.

This is fair week and we visited the dog show where Joyce's family were participants.

Otis and Daphne

Daphne has trained Otis so well.  He will one day be a champion.  Otis is only 5 months old.

Visiting with Beauty.  One of Joyce's grandson's horses.

Al and Less tried the tractor pull.  300 lbs  They did pretty good for their age.

Small county fairs are the best!

Journey Church, Lowell, IN

We have had a good week here in Northwest Indiana. The weather has been good for the iron workers and our guys; a little cool for late June.

Great progress on the building as the iron workers put up the iron girders.

Our guys are anxious to put up walls but they have been busy building the inside structures.

The storage buildings were moved from our RV area to the actual job site. They use the storage building for their tools and other supplies.

Our former gathering place was moved under the large green shelter.

Of course we had to decorate our gathering place for the Fourth of July.   In this picture we are watching the Daytona 400, Saturday evening.

Today we went to breakfast and then...

...we visited The Shrine of Christ's Passion. http://shrineofchristspassion.org/

We walked the path and viewed depictions of Christ.

It was a very moving experience and I thought it was very well done.
