Week 14 - March 2-6. Trinity Church, Miami

This week the construction, or shall we say demolition, moved down to the Kids Zone. The teachers moved their classrooms across the hall temporarily.  The classrooms were divided only by office partitions, so the noise level was not really ideal for teaching or learning. The plan is to make structured walls and add two restrooms. Here is the large space with the partitions removed.  The carpet was also taken up so the work could begin.

Glenn began to take down some walls of the large room.

Another wall was removed and plumbing pipes installed for the new restrooms.

This picture was taken earlier in the week. The round window and the rest of the wall is down now.

This picture is looking down to the kids area.

Work of course continues in the lobby area.

Installing sheetrock.  Also, the white ceiling tiles are down.

Arlen caulking the windows.

This is the other side of the windows. The sheetrock is going up and the windows cut in.

John installed more tile. This a housekeeping closet.
They wanted a low sink for mops.
The closet is just off from the restrooms.

The walls of the new nursery and toddler space are getting their sheetrock.

The floor is being sanded.  This is a large space so it is taking a while to prepare the floor surface.

One major accomplishment this past week was taking down old support beams that really wasn't supporting anything any longer.

This is the 17th dumpster to be filled.

Now for other news....

On Tuesday, for our ladies day out, we tried a new adventure.  Can you believe we rode Segways?  Yes, it's true.

In spite of a few mishaps, we arrived back "home" in one piece.  It was fun.  Check that off
our "bucket" list.

It was a great time and for one, I may even try it again.

We saw three manatees swimming by during one of our stops.

Joyce has some cute ideas for celebrating special events.  Just as schools across the country celebrated Dr Seuss' birthday, we did too.

We usually go out as a group on Thursday evening, but this Thursday we were honored to a dinner with Pastor Rich and Robin and board members. We had a lovely evening. The tables were decorated beautifully, and the Cuban cuisine was delicious.

We are so thankful for the Lord's protection!!  I was awakened early Sunday morning to the refrigerator beeping. It does that when we lose power.  I got up to check it out and saw a flash of light, fire, out the window. This could have been very serious.  All we can figure was that the connectors got wet and was possibly sitting in a puddle of water from the terrible storm we had on Saturday.

Les came to our aid and fixed our problem. Thank you Les!

Psalm 34:7King James Version (KJV)

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Psalm 91:11 King James Version (KJV)

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
